Layered Chipboard System – OPTI-DECK

The UFH Solutions Ltd OPTI-DECK system is perfect for suspended timber floors to replace a conventional structural deck.

The OPTI-DECK system comprises an 22mm routed chipboard (2400mmx 600mm) spanning the joists. The boards are pre-grooved to house the 12mm pipework securely. A 6mm foiled and routed cover panel is placed and screwed down above to fully enclose the pipe and ensure maximum heat output. The nature of the cover panel allows accurate self alignment with the chipboard deck. The innovative hexagonal foil layer allows the heat to conduct evenly. The flooring can then be laid directly onto the layered deck.

We advise that insulation board is installed beneath the routed chipboard deck, between the joists to help prevent the downward passage of heat and to encourage the heat to rise effectively throughout the floor.
